More alliterative titles for what I’ve been reading since the last time I told you about what I’ve been reading.
Today I give you 4 links, on various topics, demanding varying levels of attention span (most are short, we are an attention span deprived bunch, after all).

1. Best new blog: I Love Charts.
Because I do. I also love spreadsheets. *nerdalert*
2. Coffee: Are we making it too complicated?

The one in the middle is called an AeroPress. Based on science (maybe I’m a cynic, but anything that starts that way immediately sets off my skeptic-radar) supposed to be better than a French Press, which assaults and affronts my french press snobbery to no end.
I admit that I’m intrigued; its been on my Amazon wish list for ages.
3. Need a new fridge that is smarter than you are? How about this one? For the low low price of $3500, you can own a fridge that remembers what you have inside, when it will go bad, AND transmits that info to an app on your phone that you can check while grocery shopping.

OR. You could just not buy more food than you’ll eat and check the fridge before you go shopping. FOR FREE.
4. This article has a feminist rant, a P90X reference to Joe Bovino, a book review, and a clever pun. Also? The author of the review uses the word “butt-baby”.

If that isn’t enough to get you to read it, here’s a snippet from the article (not the book):
You guys. I know he looks like Don Draper fucked a Ken doll and a butt-baby came out, but can everyone in the world just quit having sex with this dude? HE REFERS TO WOMEN AS “IT.”
So….let’s contrast that with a snippet from the FAQ page on the book’s website:
Two-page species profiles on each chick are the key to the guide. Each profile includes a ¾ page illustration of each chick, as well as its species name, common name, group (regional, ethnic, other) name, and its most distinguishing physical characteristics, song, behavioral tendencies, mating patterns, (chick) magnets, location, and habitat. It also includes a behavioral trait chart, promiscuity index, and color-coded range map. And there are even a few (whoa! and fetch!) tips for guys in the field.
As a birder myself, I’m ashamed that we’ve given him something to base this ridiculousness off of.

But I’ll go put on my big girl panties and get over it now.
Reading anything cool? Seen any cool new products? Pinned anything new on Pinterest? Ever spent $3500 on an innanimate object that is smarter than you are? Know a good joke?
Talk to me, people!

I love the- I love Charts blog. I went off on a long tangent just looking at it- very much my kind of fun!!!
In all seriousness… I think my brother actually does have the Chemex. He’s a Barista so I think he is kind of a coffee pro, if I get a chance I’ll have to ask him whether he’s heard of the Aeropress.
You know, I can’t help but think about pot smoking when I see those coffee makers- the middle one looks like a bong my …um… acquaintance had ..my freshman year in college.
I went to the library and reupped on my books yesterday!
Got a burger cookbook and a New Orleans seafood cookbook..
The latest John Irving novel Last Night in Twisted River, A new book called Tunnel Vision (so good so far) and a another one called Stolen in the Night (the name drew me in!)
Research stuff I’m looking at: http://www.epa.gov/compliance/environmentaljustice/interagency/iwg-compendium.html (I’m excited
)
ps: thinking about starting the blog back… what do you think?
Ever spent $3500 on an innanimate object that is smarter than you are? = yes, my camera + lenses. They have a mind of their own some days
