….perform one random act of kindness every week.
At least 10 years ago, I was in line to buy some gum and soda at the airport and the woman in front of me asked the cashier to add my stuff to her total, without me knowing it. I got to the counter and he said my stuff was paid for already. The woman was already gone so I couldn’t even thank her, but I still remember her.
It wasn’t much, but it’s the little things that people remember.
Starting the year with sarcasm. Yep.
….dance like no one is watching. Literally.*
I’m a dancer at heart, but this girl? WOW.
The best part of this video is that no one reacts to some random girl dancing like a maniac to music that only she can hear. That guy in the tophat at about 1:45? Priceless.
*By “literally”, I mean figuratively. I’m not nearly that brave.
….read more than I did last year.
My official count was 53 books in 2012. I signed up for the 50 in 2013 Challenge again this year, but my unofficial goal is to beat my total from last year. I can’t back down from a challenge.
Yeah, its going to be hard. But I believe that I can be lazy, sit on my butt, and read more than a book a week this year. It helps that my new Kindle Fire came in the mail yesterday!!!
Is it wrong to love a small piece of technology?
….spend more time with my family and friends.
Sure my family makes me crazy sometimes, but they are a huge part of the reason that I moved back to Wisconsin. I love them to pieces and I need to remember that during those times when they are making me bonkers.
Which happens. A lot. (Maybe I should also add “be more patient” to this list? Nah.)
…make something everyday.
I’m leaving this one pretty open to interpretation for obvious reasons. Will I resort to allowing “make coffee” count? Probably. But for now, I want to make something NEW every day. Food, craft, friend.
There are a lot of 5- minute crafts out there, kids.
In fact, it’s only 9:45 am (and yeah, New Year’s Day and all, I’ve ben awake for hours already. Of course, I didn’t make it to midnight last night, but still. Lame? Old? Both?) and I’ve already accomplished this one!
Sure, I started this craft yesterday, but I finished it today, so it counts. I’ll show you the finished product very soon. Promise!
Do you make resolutions? What are they?
I don’t normally make New Year’s resolutions. They are mostly about losing weight/eating better/”fixing” yourself and I think I’m perfectly fine how I am thankyouverymuch.
I don’t know what to call it, but this doesn’t really feel like a list of resolutions. It is….something different?
