I think I might be addicted to this whole racing thing. Except …maybe not really the racing part.
What I mean is that I’m maybe addicted to doing races but not being competitive about them.
I had a great weekend at home with the family. Relaxing and low key which was exactly what I wanted (and needed.)
I went to the farmers market on Saturday morning where I bought my veggie staples and my dad found fishing lures.
My mom found crafts. Which means I got to pick out a Christmas present. And she’s making me wait until Christmas to enjoy it.
After picking up my race packet and digging through the ( mostly) crap, I just chilled out and got my pack ready for race day.
I love chilling out. And going to bed early.
The race was great!
My cousin and I set a “goal” of finishing in under 4 hours and we got in at 3:47!! Not bad for having walked twice since registering in July, right?
It helped that she is as much of a talker as me. We didn’t stop talking the entire time! Sure passes the time, that talking.
There were people cheering is on the whole way which was also a huge help. But the best thing was seeing my family at the finish line.
My nieces, sister, and parents were cheering us on a Ross the finish line and my cousin’s mom and 2 kids were also there.
I love these people so much.
My cousin and I have decided to make this half marathon walking thing an annual event. We figure that a year should be enough time to forget the pain.
No there really wasn’t (much) pain. There was ibuprofen though. No correlation there.
I also gave my niece her birthday present a month early. I think she liked it.
how was your weekend? Have you done a long race?
