I can’t even tell you where I heard of this book or how it came to be on Kindle, but there it was. I was in the mood to start a nice, light, funny book and how could a book with this title not fit that bill? Well, kids, it fit it all right.
The book is essentially a book of stories from the life of the author (happily married for a longish time, as far as I could tell) that illustrate just how inept men are, how little they know about women, and how their brains work. It was interesting to read a book liek this from a man’s perspective, since they aren’t all that common and I’ve certainly not read one. It was short (apparently men also have short attention spans) and the stories were funny, but not laugh out loud funny.
The only problem with this book was the style of humor writing was great in the first couple stories but then sort of started to fall flat. Or maybe it just got old or something. I’m not sure, but I found myself wanting to skim many of the stories at the end of the book.
If you want a glimpse into the brain of a stereotypical male, this is a good one for you. If you’ve just broken up with a guy and want validation that your ex is a brainless twit, this would probably work for that purpose also. If you are just a girl (or guy) single or otherwise, not out to vilify the male sex or if you don’t care which planet men and women are from, I’d say to skip this one.
